f(x) rocks various music charts with new single

Korean girl band f(x) is enjoying the popularity of their latest single "NU ABO," which has made a splashing debut on various music charts within a week of its release.

For the first week of May, "NU ABO," the title track from their new mini-album released last Tuesday, ranked first in album sales on various music charts including Hanteo and Hottracks.

The song is also dominating various online music charts -- as of Monday afternoon, "NU ABO" was pronounced the No. 1 single for the past week on music sites Dosirak and Monkey 3.

Their rapid climb to the top appears to have been largely due to the group's live performance of the single on televised music shows over the weekend, explained agency SM Entertainment.

Created by major talenthouse SM Entertainment, f(x) debuted in September 2009 with the single "LA chA TA" and followed it up with "Chu~♡" and project single "Chocolate Love," recorded in different versions with Girls' Generation for Korea's mobile phone brand LG CYON.

The girl band -- composed of Victoria, Luna, Krystal, Amber and Sulli -- revealed two new singles "Thrill Love" and "I Love You, I Love You" last month before releasing their first mini-album "NU ABO" last week.
