A Look Into f(x) Members' Unique Charms

As a group, f(x) stated, 「We don't have time to think about rivals. We're busy enough working to become the best 『Asian pop dance group』.」

f(x) has become one of the most popular girl groups in the music industry after releasing their first mini album, 『NU ABO』. f(x) is a 5-member group, consisting of Victoria (23), Amber (18), Luna (17), Sulli (16), and Krystal (16). Despite the group's average age being 18, they have been showing off their solid skills and unique personalities, challenging SNSD who is under the same managament. Their previous singles 『LA chA TA』 and 『Chu~』 were both hits, making the group's name known. Along with promoting 『NU ABO』, the members have been participating on different variety shows, showing off each of their unique charms.
『Angelic Woman』 Victoria

The oldest member, Victoria, is often referred to as 『mom』 by her group members. Although she doesn't have a single drop of Korean blood in her, her nickname suits her as she takes care of all her younger members. She makes her members' mouths happy by cooking mapo tofu and omurice for them at their dorm. Victoria tries to make her hometown, China, become a familiar place for her members by telling them stories about it whenever she has the time. She has also been gaining lots of love from fans by appearing on MBC 『We Got Married』 alongside 2PM's Nichkhun. She has also been appearing on KBS 2TV 『Invincible Youth』 in a natural, less decorative manner, and shows off her flexibility on music programs while performing 『NU ABO』. 「I often feel like I don't have any bones in my body. I learned dance for 10 years in China, so I am confident when it comes to flexibility.」
『Boyish Charm』 Amber

「I'm like a guy? This is my normal appearance.」 Since their debut, Taiwanese-American member Amber was mistaken as a guy due to her overflowing boyish charms. To the point where her members call her 『Amber oppa』 (older brother). However, she didn't seem to care much by saying, 「My appearance is so natural and comfortable, so I will go on as I feel.」 As Amber is also a member from a different country, it was hard for her at first. As they all grew up in different environments, solving problems was different, and it was difficult trying to gather the opinions of all the members. However, they have become so close that they know what another member is thinking just by looking at their eyes.

After hurting her ankle, Amber has been sitting out of performances for 『NU ABO』. She has been taking this time to work on her inarticulate Korean. 「Because of our tight schedules, I have been learning by watching dramas. If there is a word that I don't understand, I always ask the other members.」

『As Pretty As Her Sister』 Krystal
「I don't feel any rivalry with my sister. She is my senior and I am her junior in the music industry, but in the end, we are simply sisters.」 Krystal is SNSD Jessica's blood-related sister. As they are both under the same management, and are regarded as rival groups, a bit of rivalry ought to exist between the two. However, Krystal cynically answered, 「I don't have much interest in that.」 Krystal said, 「Of course I like my sister a lot. However, I can't see her very often due to SNSD's busy schedule. I spend more time communicating with my own group members.」 Along with promoting the mini album with her group, Krystal has also been getting a taste of solo activities. Along with taking the lead role, alongside singer Tei, in the music drama 『Melody Project』, she sang 『Melody』, which has been getting just as much popularity as 『NU ABO』. She has also been casted as a member in the MBC sitcom 『More Charming by the Day』, making her first attempt at acting. At this rate, it seems as if she will become more famous that her sister.

『Cute Eye Smiles』 Sulli
Sulli made her first debut as a child actress in 2005 through the SBS drama 『Seo Dong Yo』. With this background, she has the hopes of taking on plays and musicals. 「Of course I have thoughts of acting, too. However, I don't think right now is the most appropriate time. I want to concentrate on activities as f(x).」 Aside from acting, another way to admire her charms is through the SBS music program 『Inkigayo』. Sulli stands between her fellow MCs, 2PM's Taecyeon and Wooyoung, captivating viewers with her cute eye smiles. While she didn't have any difficulties while promoting 『NU ABO』, she was a little shaken during a live performance. This was because of her messing up her lyrics. She soon became the talk amongst netizens. 「Honestly, I'm not the only one who got my lyrics wrong. Amber also messed up her rap during our first comeback stage. However, many people probably did not notice it as her rap was fast and in English. The members were surprised amongst ourselves.」

『Powerful Voice』 Luna
「When we first received this song, it might have been because of the odd title, but it didn't click right away [in my head]. Honestly, I did not understand it.」
Luna, who shows off her powerful singing, revealed her first though on 『NU ABO』. She added that she also worried, 「What if it doesn't appeal to the public?」 Luna, along with her other members, agreed, 「We took on this song with the confidence that because we are f(x), we will be able to sing such a unique song, and was able to gain positive results.」 Luna was able to debut after her appearance on SBS 『Truth Game』 in 2006. She appeared on the show with the title of 『wave girl』, showing off her fantastic dance skills, surprising both the audience and celebrity panelist. However, it was not only her dancing skills, but her perfect singing skills that got her chosen to become a member of f(x). She is currently the main vocal of the group, taking care of the high notes.

Nichkhun Thinks Victoria's Accent is Cute

2PM Nichkhun and f(x) Victoria had their first meeting on the broadcast show MBC We Got Married.

Upon hearing Victoria's awkward Korean accent, Nichkhun thinks his wife is very cute. On this week's broadcast of We Got Married, the couple enjoyed a nice date, which showed how Nichkhun is used to the streets and places in Korea, while it is still awkward for his wife Victoria.
Victoria, tried to explain something to her husband in her awkward Korean sentences, however Nichkhun couldn't understand very well and just smiled and laughed. Nichkhun said 「Your awkward Korean is very cute」, to his wife Victoria.

In his interview, he said, 「When I first came to Korea, I spoke Korean awkwardly as well, and people would always say it was cute. But I got so mad, because I was frustrated because I didn't understand what they meant. But now, looking at Victoria, I can understand」.

The couple enjoyed a nice first date, eating Victoria's favorite food, pork belly. Nichkhun showed off his gentlemanly side and Victoria with her lady-like manners. After dinner, the couple went to go Karaoke, where Nichkhun serenaded his lovely wife with the song 『Nothing Better』 by Brown Eyed Soul.

f(x)'s Victoria Was In a CF With Rain?

f(x)'s Victoria and singer Rain has were in a Chinese CF together.
Before Victoria debuted, she was in a Chinese CF with the singer Rain for Samsung's Anycall phone commercial. She was the female leading role and these pictures captured were titled Victoria's Past Pictures.

In the full-length CF, Victoria and Rain are seen dancing throughout the commercial. In the commercial, Victoria offers a chance to Rain to enter into a dancing competition together, but Rain declines. But as soon as he sees Victoria practicing hard for the competition, Rain opens up and decides to help her. Victoria is the daughter of a rich family and her parents are against her dancing and kidnaps her during practice. Rain and Victoria use their phones to capture the video of themselves dancing and are able to successfully enter the competition.

On the other hand, a documentary of Victoria when she was attending a Chinese dance academy before her debut can be seen and is gaining a lot of attention from fans.
Victoria is currently on MBC's We Got Married with 2 P.M.'s Nichkhun and they are the first foreign couple to be on this show.

f(x)'s Amber Unveils a Photo of Krystal

f(x)'s Amber recently revealed a photo of fellow member Krystal to the public – evidently with great glee as she did so. By tagging the comment, 「Hehe pure Krystal! Hehe [can you tell it's her?] […] Everyone please follow up and support [us] a lot,」 along with the post, she interested many netizens into seeing what she had to say.

In response to the photo itself, netizens wrote back 「so cute, please upload the photo a lot」 and 「SunSoojoung?,」 which is a phrase made up of the Korean word for 「pure」 and Krystal』s real name. Others who remembered that Amber had been recently experiencing issues with her tendon asked, 「Amber onpa, fighting! How about your leg?」 Onpa, which is a phrase the netizens used affectionately on the idol, is a mixture between the Korean words for 「elder sister」 and 「elder brother.」

From the looks of it, it seems that the photo was taken quite a while ago, perhaps before f(x)'s debut. Do you see the resemblance between the present-day Krystal and the one in Amber's picture?

f(x)'s Fan Event 'Revealing Something Surprising'

The girl groups and f(x) had an amazing meet. On the 27th in Ax-Korea, Kwangjang, Seoul, f(x) cheerfully started off the fan event with their debut single 'LA chA TA'. They also created a friendly mood as they answered the fan's UFOs from text.

When asked 'What are the member's nicknames?' to the leader Victoria, Sulli and Krystal said Big Mama while Luna said Qian Unnie. When Girls' Generation Jessica's sister, Krystal, was asked 'When do you feel like you're the same as your sister?' she replied with 'Whenever we compare our height through our shoulders I don't feel like the younger sibling'.

Then an oppa to Sulli asked 'Don't other oppas ask you for signatures?' and Sulli replied with 'My friend's tutor, an oppa, demands for a signature when I call my friend'. Then when 'Whose most gullible in the group?' was asked, Amber said Luna and Victoria.



In the meet, the fans created a corner where they made a fill-in-the-blank sentence 'I want to see ____ do ____'. The fans who wanted to see Krystal's aegyo cheered when she did the 3-set aegyo 'I'm sleepy', 'Honey don't get mad' and 'Gimme food'. Luna received applause after singing 'And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going' for the fans who wanted her superb live vocals. Sulli danced the 'Auction Dance' for the fans who wanted to see and Amber did an impersonation of Pororo creating a passionate respond from the audience. **

Victoria's confession about first recording of IY!

f(x) Victoria relieved her thoughts about the first recording of 『Invincible Youth』.
Victoria stated on yesterday's broadcast, 「It was so fun last week.」

She also brought laughter with a confession, 「But the next day, I didn't have any strength in my legs, and I was wondering why I was so tired then realized that I had recording the previous day.」

Also Victoria asked her fellow members if it was fun. To which the members replied, 「It was really fun.」 The members asked what she did during to recording and to this, Victoria brought some laughter by answering in short & bold reply, 「I worked.」
